Laila Pettersen, @laila.wella, is an educator for Wella Professionals, Norway. Just like gems form over time, Pettersen’s creation required patience and skill. She wanted to take her client from dull to shining brilliance and used Wella’s Opal-Essence by Illumina Color shades, applied in sections with a gloved hand, to achieve the end result.

HOW-TO:

Pettersen used Wella’s Soft Blonde by Blondor with 6% developer on the base and Blondor powder with 1.9% on the lengths. After processing and rinsing, she applied Wella Illumina Color Opal Essence 8/05+ Titanium Rose with 1.9% developer to the base.

Starting at the nape and working toward the front in wide sections, she used a gloved hand to apply: Titanium Rose, Platinum Lily, Copper Peach, Silver Mauve and then Platinum Lily again—with equal parts 1.9% developer. All shades are from the Wella Illumina Color Opal Essence line.
