“This lovely lady loves to do that big dramatic change once a year,” says Christina Luck (@cjluck_hair) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. “We got her to a gorgeous icy blonde last year and now she was ready to make the plunge into copper red.  Lucky for her she has the perfect skin tone for this color and it brings her baby blue eyes out so much.”

Here Luck shares the details for that client wanting to go to the copper side while still keeping a bit of that blondish dimension:

STEP 1: Fill  with Redken Shades equal parts 7cb,  9aa and 6rb.  Process under heat for 15 minutes. Shampoo and blow dry.

STEP 2:  Starting at the root, apply Pulp Riot Faction 8 1/2 6.4 1/2 6.00 1/2 7.34 with 10 volume developer.

STEP 3: Balayage throughout with the same formula and pull some pieces through all the way to the ends. Air process for 25 minutes then shampoo.

STEP 4: At the bowl apply Pulp Riot 8.4 with .44 copper additive with double 6 volume all over to let those blonde pieces turn the perfect shade of light copper and to blend.

“Not every client is meant to have ash,” Luck adds. “This warm copper tone just made her glow.”
