"My cute client hadn't had her hair done in about a year," says Allison Walker Gressmen (@alyg.beauty) of Ottalaus Salon, Lehi, Utah. "She was wanting a change and to go darker and richer for fall. I started off by doing a root color and combing it down with my WOW comb about 3 inches in the back and 2 inches in the front."

Here she shares the details with the following formulas:

Root- Schwarzkopf 5-5 and 6-65 equal parts

Lowlight- Joico Lumishine 7nwb and 6nwb equal parts with 10g 7n

Balayage- Goldwell Oxycur mixed with balay powder for a clay consistency with 30 volume and Olaplex

Toner- Redken Shades EQ 1 oz 7p & 7nb, 1/2 oz 7t

Step 1: Alternate weave and low light balayage in a bricklay pattern and bring the root farther down on some to give it more dimension.

Step 2: In the front place diagonal sectioning, and focus the balayage around the face for brightness.

Step 3: Process about 30 minutes.

Step 4: Tone in the bowl and process for about 10 minutes.

Step 5: Cut with lots of texture and curl with the BabylissPRO 1 1/4 curling iron.
